0 votes NO, you can not browse the

NO, you can not browse the interned through wi-fi unless you pay $10 a month extra. GPS is another $10 dollars extral a month. So basically you have this great phone with all theses great apps but its gona cost you a fortune to use it.

Dam, T-mobile is run by a bunch of JEWS. lol. They do run the world. Israel is the only country that makes a profit in war.

There is a chance that T-mobile is run by Communist in China?

I see, ok thanks a lot for the good info. I thought that you can browse as long as you have a wi-fi connection but it's ok. No choice at all I like the phone but I don't want to spend more for those because I have computers at home to browse anyway. Again, thanks alot MadMike for the response and the good info.

yes you can browse the internet freely as long as you have wifi i have the BB curve 8900 and the Bold 9000

don't have data plans for either..

to browse the internet freely just go to menu/settings/options/advanced options/browser/
and change the part where it says "default browser config" to hotspot browser...

it should work. works on both my phones..

what i want to know is how the hell do i get my email without the data service...
on my bb pearl i had my email set up so that every email counted as a txt message.. but now i can't set it up on my new bb

...
the GPS is free.. it's just not the type of gps you think it its..

it's not like the car turn by turn gps..

if you have GPS enabled apps you should be able to use it..
GPS is a free satelite service they aren't gonna charge u to use it..

the most you can do with the GPS is get the coordinates to your current location if you don't have an app...
just go to advanced settings and hit GPS.. enable it then.. tthat's it..

The blackberry curves will allow you internet by wifi so long as you use hotspot settings. The gps though free most apps either require internet to download maps or you can pay the monthly fee from companys like telenav.

-1 votes Note with wifi browsing

An important note with wifi browsing. Although it is indeed possible, keep in mind each min. you use on wifi counts as a min. of calling.

Can you connect to normal internet (not wifi) through a Blackberry Curve without paying the extra per month? (eg. just paying for what you use rather than paying for a set amount each month?) if so, how?

0 vote I have a T-Mobile BB Curve

I have a T-Mobile BB Curve 8900. This is what you can do.

1. Purchase the Garmin Mobile so you can turn your GPS into GPS navigational with turn-by-turn instructions while driving.

2. Wifi is not necessary if you have the data plan from T-Mobile. I have had my 8900 for 6 months and I probably use wifi once. You access the Internet via EDGE or WAP, no need for Wifi what-so-ever.

3. T-Mobile unlimited data plan is only good for the U.S. You will be charged if you receive your email or surf the Web abroad.

4. You may add the International data plan for $19.95 per month. THIS IS ONLY GOOD FOR EMAIL!!! You will be charged separately for Web browsing while abroad. T-Mobile does prorate this service so I turn on this service ONLY when I am traveling abroad.

5. T-Mobile 8900 is not 3G so surfing the net is a bit slow using EDGE or WAP.

6. I connect my 8900 to my laptop so that I can surf the Web anywhere using my T-Mobile data plan.

Good luck,

Keith
