It is kind of hard to believe that Nokia released the Nokia 1202 phone in November, 2008, when there are bunch of advanced touchscreen phones, such as Samsung Omnia and iPhone 3G, in the market. The Nokia 1202 is a basic and simple-to-use GSM cellular phone that has no multimedia features at all. It features a small black-and-white screen, 4 MB of internal memory, and T9 Predictive Text Input. The 1202 is the most basic phone that you can find nowadays, and it is sold primarily in developing countries.

IT HANGED WITHIN 0.5 HR. OF PURCHASE.
AND NOW NOKIA IS NOT ABLE TO REPAIR IT.
THEY ARE ASKING ME TO CHOOSE OTHER MODEL
AND NOT GIVING SAME REPLACEMENT (NEW 1202)

Beware. Give a second thought before purchase, found to be faulty.
I purchased one called nokia 1202-2 M from Mustafa center, singapore. There were two schemes- one with warranty and another without warranty. I preferred the second one because of two reasons-nokia brand reputation and musstafa shop’s reputation. But within an hour, everything gone wrong. The ringtone of the mobile stops working. This is really ridiculous and consumer cheating.

It's very child-friendly nowadays. My son who is just starting to learn to send SMS, the Nokia 1202 is the perfect phone for him. It's cheap, user-friendly and it reminds me the good old days of Nokia 5110 back in 1998.
